Long term use of heroin can lead to a tolerance to the drug. other effects include heart lining infection, vein collapsing and many more. As people continue to take the drug they need to take more to get the same outcome. Other effects can include kidney failure. People can depend on these drugs physically and emotionally. After using it for a while they want it more so they could start to inject it. By injecting it these people can get HIV and other infections. These people can not only have these but this drug can really effect their mental health Their brain can not work like usual and can sometimes never go back to normal even after stop use. By taking this drug can really effect their health even if they only do it once. Taking a drug like heroin can severely effect you even if you take it once it can really effect your overall health. Because it can be injected many people can get an infection from sharing a needle which is very common for a person to do. Many people die from taking heroin and it is very easy to become dependent on it. Most people die from mainlining because it goes to your heart so quickly and your heart can’t take it. This is a very common way for heroin users.
Long term effects are:
-HIV (from injecting and sharing needles)
-vein collapsing
-heart lining infection
-kidney failure
-blockage of brain receivers
I believe that heroin has a “strong impact on the user’s life". This is because there are many things that can cause them to lose their lives. Heroin is a very addictive drug so people find that after taking it for a long time they need to start taking more and more of it to get the same effects, This causing them to inject it, which can cause things like HIV and other infections if the needle is being shared. By injecting this drug they can collapse their veins and infect the lining of the heart. People who take heroin tend to have to deal with very severe health problems which can either cost them their life our make their life a lot tougher. Taking Heroin is a very dangerous thing and should be avoided at all costs.

Here is a brain scan of two people, a person who is a drug abuser and a person who is a non-drug user. By taking this drug you can change the way your brain works. It can stop the receivers in your brain from working to its fullest. Even taking it once can stop your brain from working to the best of its ability.
